The Cuckoo House…
Nestled in a quiet valley deep in the welsh countryside the cottage forms part of the 7 acre estate that made up Dolwilym Mansion.
Whilst the original mansion house has mostly gone, many of the other buildings remain, including the servants quarters (a long house that predated the mansion), the stables, the pig sty, and the remains of the mansion kitchen now converted and called the Cuckoo House as it once resembled the face of a cuckoo clock.
Dolwilym is a very isolated spot. A perfect hideaway for artists, writers, academics, musicians, groups of friends, families in search of adventure and other creative sorts, and ideal for a romantic weekend away from the city.
